July has been a very busy for Canberra Hindu Mandir, with three events: Canberra Hindu Mandir held a stall in Curry-in-the-City event on 18 July 2014. Canberra Hindu Mandir made a profit of around A$ 4500 on that day. Thanks to all the community members and the volunteers for their relentless support. The crowd was amazing and the community enjoyed the vegetarian food. There were serpentine line in front of the Canberra Hindu Mandir stall. The volunteers feel encouraged and look forward to more such events to raise funds for the temple.
On 25 July, the Canberra Hindu Mandir had its regular monthly bhajan which is held on last Saturday of each month. The number of devotees attending this monthly bhajan is on the rise.
On 31 July, the Gurupoornima day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Canberrean community. Inspite of it being a working day, the devotees came in large numbers and participated in the Satyanarana Katha and Sai Satya Vrat Kathas. The pooja was performed by Panditji. It was heartening to hear the children sing beautiful bhajan. There were around 170 people who came to attend the event on Friday night at Palmerston Community Centre after a long working day.
Now all that we are waiting for is the news from Land Development Authority (LDA) about the land. The LDA was due to meet on 2 July 2015. However the meeting was postponed and the panel is now scheduled to meet on 6 August 2015, Thursday. It is all Baba’s wish, for it to be moved to a Thursday. Once LDA panel accepts our proposition for a large size land this will be moved to Cabinet to seek their approval before Canberra Hindu Mandir is notified about the land approval. It is now in the hands of God to make things happen. Let us pray and continue to strive in our efforts to call God in earnest and all things will fall into place automatically.”
