We need a Hindu Temple in Gungahlin, ACT.

Waiting for ACT Government's decision.

Update – April 2015

Canberra Hindu Mandir continues to march ahead with activities showcasing its commitment to bring community together to build a temple for the residents of Gungahlin. Canberra Hindu Mandir holds regular monthly bhajans on last Saturday of the month at Birallee Scouts Hall in Gungahlin.

In March we celebrated Ram Navmi festival on 28 of March 2015. This event was marked with the start of bhajans and a installation of a new frame with pictures of all Gods as mentioned in the CHM constitution and of those that would be installed in the temple. This event was well attended.

Canberra Hindu Mandir Ramnavmi CelebrationAnother important event was the bhajananjali by Ajay Bhaiji. This was held on 11 April 2015 at Birallee Scout Hall. Those who have heard Ajay Bhaiji do not need an introduction to his style of rendering bhajans. Both young and old enjoyed the bhajananjali. The children were involved in singing simple but effective bhajans which completely involved the audience and took them along the spiritual journey to Mathura, Ayodhya, Vrindavan, Tirupati, Vaishno and Shirdi. The devotees who came for quenching their spiritual thirst were not disappointed. One thing we learned was that it is only those whom God invites can attend such spiritual events. Those who attended felt blessed.

The application seeking grant of land through direct-sales has moved from Land Development Authority to Treasury. Now it is all the waiting game, if God wills everything happens. So far just an idea has become a movement and as God set His mind on it, it will become a reality. Please come and join us in this spiritual journey and be a part of it. The next monthly bhajan will be on 25 April at Birallee Scout Hall, 5th The Valley Avenue starting from 5:30 PM onwards.

If you like to host bhajans in your house or sponsor the month end bhajan please send an email to info@hindumandir.org.au. Watch this space there is more to come.
